Reins
Everyone has their own preference when it comes to reins. Thick, thin, with grip or without grip: within our assortment, there is a perfect rein for everyone.
Why use reins
Reins create the connection between you and your horse. It is therefore important that both rider and horse feel comfortable with the reins and how they function. The reins should feel comfortable in your hands and should not be too long. Reins that are too long can cause restlessness in the rider, which affects the horse and its contact.
Types of reins
Not all reins are the same. Do you ride with a martingale? Then you need martingale stops on your reins. These prevent the martingale from getting caught on the rein attachments. You can also choose between clip closures or buckle closures. With clip closures, you can easily detach the reins from the bit.
You can also choose whether or not you want stops on your reins. Stops provide extra grip. Reins with coloured stops are also available and are especially fun for children to ride with. Anti-slip material on the reins also provides additional grip for the rider.
Some reins have an elastic insert near the bit. This creates a softer effect on the horse’s mouth. These reins have a shock-absorbing function.
