Which types of bits does QHP offer?
All QHP bits are anatomically shaped and available in sizes ranging from 9.5 cm to 14.5 cm, making them suitable for both the smallest ponies and the largest horses. Our range includes loose ring snaffles, eggbutt snaffles, single-jointed and double-jointed bits. You can also choose from different materials, including stainless steel, Argentan, Sweet Iron, and Flexi.
The characteristics of our bits
A loose ring snaffle has freely moving rings, allowing the bit to move more naturally in the horse's mouth. An eggbutt snaffle has fixed rings, providing a more stable position.
The material also influences comfort. Stainless steel is strong, durable and rust-resistant. Argentan has a slightly sweet taste and warms up quickly in the horse's mouth. Sweet Iron develops a sweet-tasting surface when exposed to moisture, encouraging many horses to accept the bit more readily. Flexi bits combine a soft outer layer with a strong core, making them ideal for horses that prefer a softer feel.
