The double-jointed baby Pelham bit has shorter shanks than a regular Pelham. This gives the bit a milder effect on your horse’s mouth. The sweet iron part of the mouthpiece releases a sweet taste, which can contribute to better acceptance of the bit. The double-jointed mouthpiece distributes pressure more evenly in the mouth. Like a curb bit, a baby Pelham has a leverage effect. This bit is therefore not suitable for inexperienced riders.
